Come on over, over.

Let the 48 hour study sesh commence.

Yes, I plan on acing my finals. Yes, I plan on doing so by not sleeping for the next 2 days. It seems to be the only solution at this point. I've officially got 2 finals down and 3 more to go. Due to the events of this morning's final exam's requirement of 2 in-class essays, I have reason to believe that I've written to the point that my hand will at some point today, detach from my body.

I've downloaded a ton of new tunes by Beach House and Band of Horses. It's safe to say that I am equally obsessed with both, however my current addictions to The XX and Exlovers still stand strong.

Most Recent Fabulous Find:
Lovefool (Barletta edit) - The Cardigans

I feel that this will always be amongst my top favorite songs. I remember when I was younger, sitting in the back of my mom's honda civic in Southern California, being driven to school or houses of family members and hearing Lovefool by The Cardigans on the radio. I found the tune so catchy and lyrics appealing at a young age, and my love for this song still brews. I love this edit because it alters a song that reminds me of my youth by adding edgy beats that create the perfect sound for my life right now, years later. In comparison, I'm back in Southern California where I belong, singing along to happy tunes every chance I get and I'm still that little girl inside. In contrast, I'm driving and directing myself and choosing my own path in the midst of this chaotic, deceiving, beautiful world. I perceive the additional beats to the song as audio symbols representing the obstacles, complications, and good times that my life has to offer me. Oh yeah, I'm just savoring this track and it's significance to my life. AMEN.

The Lovely Bones movie was mesmerizing. All I can say it, I don't think they could have directed it any better.

My fix of blissful blogging for the day has officially been fulfilled. Back to studying. (:

Absolute adoration.

Just allow your senses to take it all in. All things, small & big.

It sounds cliche, but it really is important to appreciate the simple things in life.

A couple of weeks ago, post-wine binge, and after a little coloring session in a Spongebob coloring book, my roommate turned to me and said: "You know, I've always admired how much you appreciate and adore the little things. Like, you just got so stoked on that picture of Spongebob chasing Squidward with bubbles that I colored for you." It sounds ridiculous, but it's true. I really was excited. My lips turned up in excitement and with a grin-covered face, I jumped up and expressed true gratitude for the fact that she had colored me a picture. The next day, I started noticing the way I notice simple little things in life. I love finding something interesting about someone or something no one has thought twice about. It's like having your own little discovery; a discovery that you can appreciate, and show others they can appreciate too. Sometimes, all it takes is stopping and smelling the roses. Literally. Unless you live in the desert. Then, I'm just sorry because I know from first-hand experience that cacti does not have the most smell-provoking aroma. But, in all seriousness, it is very much not likely that the roses you see get smelled on a regular basis. They work so hard to bloom, then when they do, not only do they show off unfathomable natural beauty but they produce a wonderful scent that everyone should learn to appreciate. So, please - for the sake of mother nature and your own personal leisure, please smell the roses sometimes. If you appreciate them, they'll appreciate you.
